An Introduction to Environmental Constellations for Environmental Lawyers and campaigners.
Constellations can provide unexpected ideas and new perspectives when representing a client or influencing political decisions and resolving conflict. It is particularly useful when the client is an animal, plant or eco-system where conventional dialogue is not possible. An environmental lawyer describes her experience:
‘I had no idea what to expect. I was surprised at how easily the group formed to play out the chosen scenario and how involved in it I became. It is difficult to explain the experience in words, other than to say that it involves less of a conscious effort and more of a natural progression of feelings and intuition. The answers to our questions came to light in a way that seemed honest and true, on a deeper level than as usually results from a mental process of factual analysis. I can see very definite advantages in this process for resolving conflicts and unanswered questions.’
